Rebecca has served at New Life since January 2000. The staple of her ministry is leading the congregation into the Presence of God through worship. She is also in charge of the adult choir, children's choir, praise and worship band, special music, dramas, musicals, and anything to do with the Music Department at New Life church. She also oversees Women of Courage (our single mom's ministry), Mentorship Ministry (to the children of single moms) and God's Rods (a children's drama team for kids in 2 nd to 5 th grade).
Rebecca was born and raised in New Life Assembly of God church. Her grandparents were charter members when the church was founded on Center Avenue . Her Grandfather was the custodian for many years and her Grandmother was the Sunday School Secretary for 25 years. Rebecca's father, Ivan Christianson, served as a deacon at New Life. Her family has always been involved at New Life Assembly of God in one form or another.
Rebecca attended North Central Bible College (now known as North Central University ) and UW-Whitewater where she majored in Music Education. She has always used her talent for the Lord, singing her first solo in church when she was three. Since then, she has sung at church, in various choirs (including traveling choirs that toured around the United States and the British Isles ), funerals, weddings and concerts. But her favorite audience has been an audience of One, Jesus Christ.
She married Rich LaCount in May of 1992. Rich serves in Royal Rangers and in Toddler's Church. He is also Rebecca's strongest support. Rich and Rebecca have three beautiful children. Micayla came along in 1995 and she enjoys music. She especially likes to sing and play her violin. Dale was born in 1997 and loves to play video games and play anything, as long as it is outdoors! Abrieanna was an unexpected surprise in 2003, yet she is such a delight to both of her parents!
