Pastor Mike has served as a pastor since 1970. Prior to that he was a director with Houston, Texas Teen Challenge. He came to Janesville in November, 1999.
Jackson's emphasis is on reaching the lost at any cost. He strives to involve the whole body in the ministry of evangelism. Many former members of his congregations are now active in full-time ministry themselves.
Pastor Jackson is a student of the Book. He enjoys exploring topics and scriptures in series of messages that can stretch out over several months. Some of his favorite subjects include, the Book of Genesis, leadership, vision, listening, personal disciplines, and Christian growth and development. He is an avid reader.
Mike taught part-time at Southern Bible College, in Houston, Texas. That is also the same school that he graduated from in 1982. Then, too, he has spoken at numerous district conferences, revivals, and seminars here in America as well as in Romania. Jackson is also a published author. His material has been carried in such periodicals as The Pentecostal Evangel, The Pentecostal Messenger, Advance, Ministries Today, Pulpit Helps, American Family Association Journal, The Pastor's Story File, Parables as well as several other magazines and newspapers. He has also written and directed one Christian drama.
Charisma magazine honored Pastor Jackson as one of the "Outstanding Pastors in America" in 1987. He has served on many boards and committees through the years including the South Dakota District
and Minnesota District Presbytery, the Northern California-Nevada District Missions Board, and the Northern California-Nevada District Teen Challenge Board of Administration. He was also honored to serve as the Chaplain of the Nevada State Assembly and Senate. (The first Pentecostal to serve in this capacity).
Pastor Mike has been married to his wife Marilyn since 1969. Marilyn has been active in Women's Ministry and well as taught Missionettes. She has also served as a district leader in Women's Ministry, editor and writer. Marilyn speaks at various ladies functions on both the local church and the district level.
The Jacksons have two daughters. The oldest one, Michelle, is married to Pastor Todd Pope, Sr. Associate Pastor at New Life. They have two children. Marci, the Jackson's youngest daughter, lives in
Janesville and is married to Aaron Johnson.
